Salford, who are co-owned by Manchester United's fabled 'Class of '92' and play in the Evo-Stik Premier League, were comfortable winners over their Sky Bet League Two opponents, with second-half goals from Danny Webber and Richie Allen booking their spot in round two.
Neville, Butt and fellow owner Paul Scholes were at the Moor Lane to witness their side's famous win.
Neville said on BBC Two: "I just thought it was a bonus being here, but I thought we were the better team, unbelievable effort. I thought it was brilliant, absolutely amazing that tonight.
"They (County) didn't play well, but that wasn't easy for any club tonight, to come here, our lads were unbelievable.
