Medhi Benatia scored on his debut as Juventus defeated an inexperienced Tottenham side 2-1 in Melbourne.
Paulo Dybala grabbed the opener for the Italian champions, after a mistake by Cameron Carter-Vickers, before defender Benatia netted with a fine header.
Spurs, who handed debuts to Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen, could have few complaints with being 2-0 down at the break after a poor showing.

They improved in the second half following the introduction of Erik Lamela and he reduced the deficit with an impressive low strike.
The Argentine was unable to capitalise with another chance late on while youngster Shayon Harrison had an effort from close range saved as Max Allegri's side held on and showed there is life after Paul Pogba.

TALKING POINT

How did Vincent Janssen fare on his debut? It was a frustrating game for the lone striker who was not provided with any service from Nacer Chadli or Ryan Mason. He got into the game more following the introduction of Erik Lamela, but did not have any clear opportunities to score. It will be interesting to see how the Holland international performs in a partnership once Harry Kane returns from holiday.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Paulo Dybala (Juventus): The Argentine underlined his class with his movement and energy which was too much for Spurs' young defence. He took his goal well with a low strike and was a constant threat.
