After drawing with Kidderminster, Malcolm Crosby's Tynesiders returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-0 victory at Guiseley.
Crosby may yet add to his squad before the end of the transfer window, but that is unlikely to happen before the Imps fixture. James Marwood (wrist), Shaun McDonald (hand) and Nathan Buddle (head) are among those sidelined while Paddy McLaughlin is closing in on full fitness.
Assessing the clash, Crosby told www.gateshead-fc.com: "We know Lincoln are a big, strong, physical team. It's a Bank Holiday fixture and I'd like to think we will see a decent crowd. You have to be winning games. If we can, then that will be five wins from our first seven, and all of a sudden, we're getting serious."
Lincoln will be looking to put in an improved performance when they travel to the International Stadium.
City were thankful for ever-present goalkeeper Paul Farman on Saturday as he saved them from defeat in a poor showing during the draw with 10-man Grimsby.
Liam Hearn (virus) missed the derby against his former club but manager Chris Moyses expects him to be involved in some capacity and they will be boosted by the goalscoring threat he poses.
The last time these sides met was a six-goal thriller last season, a 3-3 draw two months after a 1-1 scoreline in their previous league meeting.
