Henderson has been ruled out with a shoulder problem so Nick Pope will deputise while new loan signing Neil Etheridge is set for a place on the bench.
The Addicks also have doubts over top scorer Igor Vetokele, who is still feeling a calf injury despite playing the full 90 minutes against Millwall last weekend, and midfielder Yoni Buyens due to a hamstring problem.
Left-back Rhoys Wiggins (foot) and striker Simon Church (shoulder) remain on the sidelines.
New signings Noel Hunt and Sean St Ledger will go into the Ipswich squad.
Striker Hunt has joined on loan from Leeds until January, linking up again with older brother Stephen at Portman Road, while defender St Ledger has arrived on a short-term deal.
But Town will be without centre-back Christophe Berra through suspension and Hunt's former Leeds team-mate Cameron Stewart (hamstring), while left-back Tyrone Mings is a doubt with a dead leg.
Jonathan Parr, who returned at Bournemouth after injury, is on standby to replace Mings and Kevin Bru (ankle) - injured after 17 minutes at Dean Court - is not fit, but Teddy Bishop (hip flexor) should make it.
