Hewitt signs for Magpies

Notts County have signed Wales Under-21 international Elliott Hewitt.

Hewitt, who can play as a full-back or a winger, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract and becomes the 17th new arrival at Meadow Lane this summer.

He was previously with Championship club Ipswich and spent last season on loan with Colchester in League One.

Hewitt told the club's official website: "(Head of recruitment) Guy Branston called me couple of weeks ago and that's when I first heard. I played about 20 games in Macclesfield with League Two, so I know a little about it."
