Thomas Muller scored a first-half double as Bayern Munich beat Chelsea 3-2 in a warm-up game in Singapore.
The German champions, looking to bounce back from their 4-0 drubbing by AC Milan last week, stormed out of the blocks and took an early lead through Rafinha’s long-range strike.
Bayern’s pace was too much for the Blues’ defence to handle and they raced into a 3-0 lead courtesy of Muller’s volley followed up with a stunning strike from outside the box.

Marcos Alonso pulled a goal back for the Blues, who brought on record signing Alvaro Morata for his debut in the second half.
And Chelsea improved in the second 45 minutes with Carlo Ancelotti’s side weakened by the string of substitutions.
Michy Batshuayi, who netted twice in the 3-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday, scored late on to set up a tense finish, but Bayern held on to seal victory from a thrilling friendly.

TALKING POINT

How worried should Antonio Conte be about the first half performance? The display maybe strengthens the Italian’s argument that the Blues squad needs more reinforcements to handle the Champions League, the defence of their Premier League title and the cup competitions.
The Blues defence was exposed by Bayern’s pace and Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso playing too high up the pitch. On the flip side, they improved in the second half and have Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoué Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata to bed into the side.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Franck Ribery(Bayern Munich): The 34-year-old wide man was back to his best. His pace and trickery proved to be the undoing of Cesar Azpilicueta and the Chelsea defence. The Frenchman linked up well with James Rodriguez, who should have scored at least twice. While Thomas Muller faded in the second period, Ribery was devastating in both halves.
