Ronaldo "two weeks away"

Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is on the way to fitness but is still unavailable for the weekend Liga match against Betis. Madrid boss Fabio Capello, however, suggested that the 30-year-old hitman will be ready for action in two weeks.

"I said three weeks and only one has passed," Capello told the club website.

"Ronaldo improves every day, he is working very well and we are very happy with the work that is doing.

"The knee is not giving him any problems, but he has to lose a little more weight."

Michel Salgado is also out (knee), while fellow defender Ivan Helguera is left out with his future seeming away from the Bernabeu.

David Beckham had been tipped for a return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench to score against Real Sociedad last weekend, although Capello was not willing to name his team for the weekend.

"I haven't decided (about Beckham) yet, but 12 men cannot play," said Capello.

"I rotate my players, so some have to be left out every match. He's a member of the squad, just like the rest."
