Tristan unhappy with Mallorca bench

Mallorca striker Diego Tristan has spoken of his frustration at not playing under coach Gregorio Manzano.

Tristan, 31, re-joined Mallorca after his contract at Deportivo expired last summer and with one of the best scoring records in La Liga expected to start on a regular basis.

But he has found playing time limited, only starting five Liga matches and coming off the bench eight times.

"I have never experienced a situation like this and am genuinely unhappy," Tristan complained. "I was not expecting this last summer."

Tristan had several other clubs in Spain and England courting him when he left Deportivo but opted for the club where he made his name in the late 1990's. But he is now rueing the decision.

"It's a tough time but these things happen in football," he continued. "I want to play but if the coach disagrees then it is impossible. If I do not play two consecutive matches then it is impossible to triumph - in any team.

"It is difficult to think about my future."
