Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has praised his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo for his "crazy" workrate but criticised the timing of his parties.

Summer-signing Kroos was invited to, but did not attend, Ronaldo’s infamous birthday event the night Real were beaten 4-0 by Atletico Madrid.
“Cristiano is football crazy, I have to say," the German international told AS.
"But if he could pick a better time for his parties that would be ideal!”
“He works to improve every day. He burns to score goals. You can only do what he does that way. All of this is tied to his high quality."
The former Manchester United winger has had another outstanding season in Spain, scoring 49 goals in 44 games in all competitions.
However, he was heavily criticised for holding his 30th birthday party on the evening of a crushing derby defeat and Kroos has admitted he didn't attend because it felt wrong.
“I didn’t go to the party. He called me two days before and I said 'I know we have the match against Atletico and it won’t be easy. You’d be better having it after the home match against Getafe!'.
“He understood the joke and laughed. It turned out we lost 4-0 that day. I’m not of the opinion he should have cancelled the party.
“It’s difficult to cancel a party of 200 guests with only two hours’ notice. It was also difficult to tell the children.
“I thought it didn’t look right because we had just lost 4-0 to our city rivals, but I didn’t see the drama that the party would create."
