After joining on loan from Nottingham Forest in January, Laing bounced back from a debut red card and a troublesome groin problem by helping Motherwell stay in the Premiership with a 6-1 play-off win over Rangers.
The centre-back last week signed a two-year contract and believes there is more to come from himself next term.
The former Sunderland player said: "I'm going to feel settled, I am going to be living here 24:7, and it's where I want to be.
"Hopefully I can stay injury-free and keep on improving.
"The groin problem was a 12-month thing and the Hamilton game really aggravated it and put me out for four weeks.
"The Rangers games were even a doubt but I got through the games and I've been through a lot of strengthening work in the summer and I don't feel that is going to affect me this season. I feel as strong as I have ever been."
Laing signed on the same day Ian Baraclough completed the transfer of striker Louis Moult from Wrexham and the defender feels Motherwell can push well up the table this season.
"The manager has shown an ambition," the 22-year-old said. "We all want to be top half and do as well as we can.
"Beating Rangers was a fantastic experience and we can take a lot of confidence from that into next season."
