Late possession for Swansea as they try and make a late game of this, but there is not enough quality when it really matters up front.
Three added minutes here...
"Wembley, Wembley" rings from the United end. They are certainly one step closer now.
There it is...
Final change for United as the lesser-spotted Luke Shaw replaces Martial.
United have taken their foot right off the gas here. Swansea are resigned to their fate here.
Lingard is not giving up on this treble as he fires for goal, but that is straight at Nordfeldt.
Arsenal still toiling to find an equaliser against Norwich at home...
Blind is the next to go into the book after hauling Routledge down.
Ayew curls a free-kick towards goal, but that is very easy for Romero to gather.
Tuanzebe goes flying into the tackle, and cannot escape a caution for that.
SAVE! Finally we have a shot on target. Abraham does well to swivel and shoot for goal, which forces Sergio Romero into a smart stop.
Here comes Swansea's final change, as Tammy Abraham replaces McBurnie.
After several fouls, Ki is finally cautioned for bringing down McTominay on the run.
MISS! Smalling heads into the ground, Nordfeldt can only parry, Tuanzebe is on hand to convert the reBound, but gets underneath it and fires over from close range.
Double change for United. Rashford and Herrera make way for Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. Lukaku has gone three games without a goal... good opportunity for him to get on the scoresheet in the final 25 minutes. For Swansea, Leroy Fer comes off for Mesa.
He has been excellent tonight...
CHANCE! That was the opportunity for the hat-trick, but Lingard blows it, as he snatches at the shot, dragging the ball across the face of goal.
United turning on the style now. Swansea look very much like a beaten side here.
The cup king is at it again! Great play from Tuanzebe as he carries the ball forward, sprays it out wide to Darmian, who whips a cross on to the head of Lingard, who still has a lot to do from that distance with his head, but the finish is excellently steered into the bottom corner.
GOAL! Swansea 0-2 Manchester United. Lingard guides the ball into the net with his head to make it two.
Super cross from Rashford right across the face of goal, but Martial cannot get on the end of it.
Cynical foul from Clucas does not go unpunished as he is cautioned for bringing down Rashford.
This is too easy for United. Swansea are not committing enough bodies forward.
Lingard tries to thread the ball into the path of Martial, but Mawson steps across to cut the ball out.
Martial clips a cross into the middle, Mawson heads clear, it falls to Herrera, but his strike from well out actually runs out of play for a throw.
Good start to the half from Swansea. McTominay clears well from a corner as Swansea press.
Break in play as Martial gets some treatment after landing awkwardly. Seems to be fine to carry on.
No changes for either side as we are back under way here.
That's your lot for the first half as McBurnie lofts an effort just over the top with the last kick of the half. United have been pretty comfortable after taking the lead via a smart Lingard goal. Swansea have to get at a United defence which has looked a little disjointed at times.
One added minute here...
CLOSE! Great effort from Sam Clucas from the edge of the box as he uses the United defenders to keep Sergio Romero unsighted, he curls for the bottom corner, but sees his effort fizz just wide.
McTominay arrives late on the edge of the box, the youngster is picked out by Martial, but he blazes the ball well over the top.
Free-kick to United after Angel Rangel commits the foul, earning him the game's first yellow card.
Big blow for Swansea as Martin Olsson is forced off with an injury. Kyle Naughton replaces him.
Cross into the United box causes havoc, Tuanzebe falls to the floor, but it is eventually cleared.
After a good spell for Swansea, United are back in control, and have slowed the tempo right down.
NO PENALTY! Routledge wants a penalty after Tuanzebe pulls him back, but referee Bobby Madley is having none of it. First contact appeared to be outside the box anyway.
CLOSE! That would have been a rather comical equaliser. Blind gets up to head clear, but heads it into the back of McBurnie and the ball trickles just past the post.
Wayne Routledge is adjudged to be onside, but turns back inside, into trouble and is dispossessed. The game seemed to stop as United waited for the flag.
McTominay is fouled on the edge of the box, giving Rashford the chance to shoot for goal, but he cannot beat the wall.
That goal has knocked the stuffing out of the hosts, who didn't start the game badly. Clinical from United.
Super goal. The ball is fizzed into the feet of Rashford, who delicately flicks the ball through for Lingard. He controls it well, races clear before slotting the ball neatly into the bottom corner. Slick football, but Swansea made it easy for the holders.
GOAL! Swansea 0-1 Manchester United. Just as I say that, Lingard puts United in front!
Decent start from Swansea. They have had a go here, and haven't let United control things.
Martial is sent sprawling to the floor by Ki. Very reckless. No booking, though.
Lindelof doesn't cover himself in glory again, as he lets Jordan Ayew get away from him, but Smalling is across to cover.
Ki shifts the ball onto his left foot, has a goal at goal, but that is easy for Axel Tuazebe for make the block.
United seem to have set up in a 3-4-3 formation. Matteo Darmian is on the right, and Daley Blind on the left.
United comfortable in possession without really creating any real openings. Scott McTominay appears very assured.
Alfie Mawson is furious as a cross Ki Sung-Yueng comes off Smalling but a goal kick is given.
United work the ball really well to Jesse Lingard on the edge the box, he has a snap-shot at goal, but it is easy for Kristoffer Nordfeldt to tip over the top.
United full of running in the early stages here, chasing everything down.
CLOSE! Marcus Rashford whips an early cross onto the head of Chris Smalling, but the skipper cannot guide his header on target. Real venom in the cross.
We are under way here in south Wales.
Here we go. Can United take a step closer to retaining the League Cup? Will the apprentice overcome the master as Paul Clement looks to defeat a manager he worked under at Chelsea? You will find out right here!
Jose Mourinho insists his side are ready to move on from the weekend: "Everybody was upset after the match. The next day is the next day, the next match is the next match. We have to try and not commit the same kind of mistakes. The players agree with me, the way we approached the game (against Huddersfield) was wrong in terms of attitude."
HEAD-TO-HEAD: After three successive losses against Swansea between August 2014 and August 2015, United have won three of the last four (D1), including a 4-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium in the second Premier League game of the season. This will be just the second meeting between these two teams outside of league competition, with Swansea winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in an FA Cup third round match in January 2014.
Dressed to impress...
There is a rare start for Oli McBurnie for Swansea as Paul Clement makes eight changes. Alfie Mawson, Martin Olsson and Jordan Ayew are the only survivors from the weekend defeat to Leicester.
Changes galore, as expected. Seven changes for United from the defeat at Huddersfield. Marcus Rashford starts, while Victor Lindelof has the chance to make amends for his poor showing in Yorkshire. Axel Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay are in, too.
