Sanogo joined Ajax on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal last summer but has found playing time hard to come by since arriving at the Amsterdam Arena.
Recent reports claimed that Ajax are looking to cut the Frenchman's loan deal short having failed to impress manager Frank de Boer and only being awarded 47 minutes on the pitch so far this season.
Sanogo scores in a friendly against Almere City on Thursday:
Former Ajax winger Tschen La Ling was appointed to the advisory board of Ajax in June and is a confidant of Johan Cryuff. He put together a report on the internal problems at the Dutch giants, which has since been leaked by the Telegraaf newspaper.
La Ling revealed how Sanogo's move to the club was sanctioned on the basis of Arsene Wenger's 'opinion'.
"There are no scouting reports. The player has been signed based on the opinion of the head coach of Arsenal, Wenger. The statistics and quality of the player are very questionable. The player does not fit the profile - we seek an experienced striker who is ready and [Sanogo] has yet to ripen", states La Ling's report.
Further observations from the report claim that "there is little contact between the most important people at Ajax: the head coach [Frank de Boer] and head of youth development [Wim Jonk - who has now left the club]. A possible connection role is not completed by Dennis Bergkamp [assistant manager]".
