The Colombian’s wonder-strike just before the break broke the deadlock for Madrid against a resolute Almeria and he told reporters afterwards that it is something he works on in training.
“Everyone said it was a great goal, like the one I scored in the World Cup in Brazil against Uruguay,” said James.
“It was a quick piece of play. I always practice those and thanks to God it came off. It was a good goal, well hit.
“I only want to do what I can for the team and if I can score those kind of goals then that helps the side even more.”
James believes Los Blancos are still capable of catching leaders Barcelona, who are two points ahead with just four games of the season remaining.
“We can do it but right now we are just thinking about [Saturday’s game at] Sevilla. They are a strong side but we’re Real Madrid and we’ll be going there to win,” he declared.
