Martin Odegaard came off the Real Madrid bench to become the club’s youngest ever first team player during their end-of-season clash with Getafe in La Liga.
With Real boasting a 5-3 lead in an extraordinary encounter – which saw Cristiano Ronaldo net a first-half hat-trick – the Norwegian was thrust into the action by manager Carlo Ancelotti on 58 minutes, replacing the Portuguese winger.
He was just 16 years, five months and six days old.
Odegaard arrived at the Bernabeu in January after a lengthy European tour that saw him visit a number of the continent’s top clubs.
He also became Norway's youngest international in August when still aged 15.
Real eventually sealed a 7-3 win over Getafe, with Ronaldo's treble being added to by strikes from Javier Hernandez, James Rodriguez, Jese and Marcelo.
Barcelona pipped Carlo Ancelotti's side to the title, with the Italian's future now in doubt after a trophy-less season.
