Iniesta: We have suffered until the end but it is glorious

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta said his team suffered a lot on the way to winning La Liga but insisted it was all worth it in the end.

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta praised the club’s fans after his team won La Liga title on the final day of the season with a 3-0 victory over Granada.

A Luis Suarez hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Granada ensured the Catalans could not be caught by rivals Real Madrid, who won 2-0 at Deportivo La Coruna in their final match of the season.

And Iniesta could not contain his delight after a long campaign that went to the wire.

"We had to work hard all season, this feels really good,” he said. “The league is the tournament that rewards the consistency

"We have suffered until the end but it is glorious. To win 6 league titles in 8 years with the same style."

"The fans deserve a big celebration, they suffer a lot."

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu back up his captain's thoughts. He added: "We deserve this league title. The players showed that they wanted it.

"We have a great team. 6 league titles in 8 years shows the idea and the philosophy of Barça."
