Real Madrid have confirmed that striker Karim Benzema has sustained a thigh injury and will continue to be monitored.

Benzema pulled a muscle in his right thigh in training with the Spanish giants and has not been included in the squad which will contest the Audi Cup at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena this week.
A club statement read: “Following tests carried out on Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid Medical Services at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital today, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in his right thigh. His condition will be evaluated.”
Benzema has been repeatedly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer but if a transfer is on the cards, his injury will not be a barrier to talks as it is a minor problem.
In any case, Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez said on Monday that he would not consider selling the France international.
"I think Benzema is going to stay with us,” he said. “I'm very happy with him."
