Marcelo ends Brazil exile

Marcelo’s Brazil exile is over after new boss Tite called up the Real Madrid defender in his first squad on Monday.

Marcelo had not featured for Brazil since October 2015 and did not see eye to eye with former Coach Dunga, who had questioned the full-back’s defensive ability at the beginning of his reign.

However, he has been picked for 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Russia in the first week of September.

Other Spanish-based players in the squad include Marcelo’s clubmate Casemiro, Barcelona star Neymar and Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis.
