Gareth Bale could return to action for Real Madrid this weekend after he was included in the squad to face Espanyol following his knee injury.
The 27-year-old returned to full training last week and only narrowly missed out on being named in the Madrid squad to face Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night, according to reports in AS and Marca.
Those same stories state the Welsh forward will likely be on the bench for the visit of ninth-placed Espanyol to the Bernabeu on Saturday after he successfully completed a further two days of training with the first-team squad and it has since been confirmed that he will be back in the squad.
The former Spurs man tweeted on Sunday evening "can't wait to be back in action now” along with a picture of him back in training with Los Blancos.
Bale was injured during his team's Champions League win against Sporting Lisbon back in November and has not featured since limping off, then. Bale later underwent surgery on the injured ankle.
