Zinedine Zidane admits quandary over BBC trident formation at Real Madrid

“Madrid are unique and every time something happens here, it’s because we’re Madrid and we know this,” the Frenchman said ahead of the game against Real Betis in La Liga.

“We don’t rely on anything or anyone. Madrid are Madrid. We can harm anyone. The team can do things better, but we’re focused on our game.

“We can improve and we will. We’re approaching the end of season and every point from hereon is very important.

“We play better in a 4-4-2? We’ve played many matches well with a 4-3-3. Lately, I can say that with we’ve played well [in a 4-3-3], we had a good game at Eibar.

“With 4-4-2 we have more balance, but I’m not thinking about these things. I know that we can play in many ways and we can do it well.

“With three or two up top, we can change our system. The most important thing is attitude and what we want.

“I like it because they’re more effective in this position, although I know that Bale can play in a line of four.”
