Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking close to home as he lines up a pre-deadline raid on Strasbourg.
The Alsace-born boss has been keeping tabs on midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and the 17-year-old talent has admitted he could be finding a new club this week.
"I want to take a step up," he informed Dernieres Nouvelles d'Alsace. "I've had an interesting offer from a higher profile club than Strasbourg.
"They offered me an interesting objective.
"I cannot say any more about it but I hope to finalise my transfer on Monday."
Schneiderlin's agent is in talks with clubs from Ligue 1 and the Premiership and, although Strasbourg will fight to keep him, the teenager is believed to be on his way to London.
Chelsea were keen on Schneiderlin, who has been capped at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level by France, in the summer but Arsenal are now tipped to be leading the chase for his signature.
Wenger has gone on record as saying he will not be making any signings this month but he could add to his exciting youth ranks with a pre-deadline swoop.
