Bordeaux keen on Diawara

The 28-year-old Senegal international struggled to adapt to the demands of English football last season, though Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc is keen to bring the player back to Ligue 1, where he impressed many with his form for Sochaux two seasons ago.

"It is true, he is our priority trail," Triaud told French daily L'Equipe.

"We are in talks with Charlton about a definitive transfer. Diawara has a big advantage as he knows Ligue 1 perfectly well.

"We are improving and we hope to settle that case quite quickly, but he would not be able to join us before Le Championnat starts [this weekend]."
