Sedan midfielder Aliou Cisse is disappointed by the level of French referees, highly criticized this season in all quarters.
The former Senegal captain was sent off in the 3-2 defeat against Troyes, a result which lands Sedan in serious relegation trouble, and thinks the punishment was absurd.
"It was crazy," Cisse told l'Union. "Ligue 1 referees need to learn. I committed two fouls during the match and received two [yellow] cards.
"When it is so important a match, the minimum we should expect is to have good referees. The ref has been exceeded by the event, by what was at stake.
"He totally changed the match."
Sedan are now seven points from safety, one place from the foot of the table.
