Striker Jan Koller has admitted he could quit Monaco if he does not get to play regular first team football this season.
The Czech target man has featured only intermittently during Monaco's warm-up to the new campaign, with Frederic Piquionne grabbing the only forward position in coach Ricardo Gomes' preferred lone-striker formation.
And should that situation continue, Koller claims he would be forced to look elsewhere.
"The coach says that the attack is not levelled with the defence and that is why he wants to play with only one striker, which is Piquionne," Koller told Sport.
"He thought we would be playing together, but so far it has not happened."
Asked if that was a disappointment, Koller said: "Of course it is. It has not been easy, that is why I went to see the coach.
"If this was going to be on a long-term basis, I would have had to look for something else. However, I still want to try it."
Monaco finished in ninth place in Ligue 1 last season, but Koller harbours greater aspirations for the club this time round.
He said: "We want to qualify into European cups. For sure, we must be better than in the last season. We must not repeat it."
