Paris Saint-Germain winger Nene has apologised to his team-mates for a mini-tantrum during the 2-1 defeat to Nancy on Saturday.
Brazilian Nene sulked throughout the match after being left on the bench by coach Carlos Ancelotti, part of an ongoing reaction to the loss of his star status following the signing of Javier Pastore in the summer.
According to L’Equipe, PSG sporting director Leonardo, also from Brazil, called Nene on Sunday to ask him not to repeat such behaviour, instructions the player is understood to have agreed to.
And after returning to training on Tuesday morning, Nene publicly apologised to his colleagues and coach, saying he would respect Ancelotti’s decisions in the future.
The defeat means big-spending PSG are second in Ligue 1, behind surprise-package Montpellier on goal difference with eight matches remaining.
Montpellier also have a game in hand, with both sides due to face Marseille in the run-in and PSG also playing third-placed defending champions Lille.
