Rennes reject Inter Milan move for Edson Mexer - report

Reports in France suggest Inter Milan have had an €11m (£8 milliion) bid for Rennes defender Edson Mexer rejected.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen for next season, after a disappointing campaign which saw Roberto Mancini’s side finish eighth in Serie A.

According to L’Equipe, 27-year-old centre-back Mexer has been the subject of an €11m bid from the Beneamata, but the proposal was rejected out of hand.

A Mozambique international, Mexer only joined Les Rouges et Noirs last summer, arriving from Portuguese side Nacional on a three-year deal.

Mexer made 35 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring four times to help the Breton side finish ninth.
