Thierry Henry has leapt to the defence of under-fire Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic has been roundly criticised in France after a foul-mouthed rant following PSG's defeat by Bordeaux.
The striker swiftly apologised after he was recorded immediately after the defeat against Bordeaux saying: "In 15 years I've never seen a (good) referee in this s*** country ... (they) don't even deserve PSG."
The Swede is due to appear before the French League's (LFP) disciplinary commission on April 9 to explain remarks he made after the 3-2 loss on March 15.
Henry, however, believes that the former Barcelona and AC Milan forward is deserving of more respect.
"Zlatan is an extraordinary guy. He is incredibly kind and we laughed a lot together," Henry told L'Equipe.
"The people in France should make up their mind about what they really want. First they were complaining about the lack of big stars in Ligue 1 and now they have a player of Ibrahimovic's stature, they are complaining about him again...
"He is an amazing player, someone really special who has marked an era. He has won league titles wherever he went.”
Since his outburst Ibrahimovic has gone on record to speak of his fondness for France and Henry sees him as a unique type of player.
"Of course, he can be quite temperamental. He says what he thinks, but that has never bothered me. There are not a lot of players with his character.
"If they punish him for his comments after PSG's loss versus Bordeaux, so be it, that's life. But the people in France should enjoy Ibrahimovic while it lasts."
