The away side came close to clinching the three points when Raphael Guerreiro rounded Anthony Lopes only for his shot to be deflected onto the crossbar by covering centre-back Samuel Umtiti.
Lazazette was forced of with in an injury in the dying stages after Lyon had made all three substitutions, capping a frustrating evening for Hubert Fournier's side.
Elsewhere there was a victory for Stade Reims at Bordeaux, with two goals in the last ten minutes from Nicolas de Preville and Theoson Siebatcheu sealing a 2-1 win.
Toulouse also got off to a winning start with goals from Martin Braithwaite and Wissam Ben Yedder in a 2-1 victory over Saint-Etienne.
