Barca lead 7-0 from the first leg and with the game as good as over, the Coach has decided to rest the majority of his regulars, with six players from the B team or below called up.
The club’s official website confirms Wilfrid Kaptoum, Sergi Samper, Dani Romera, Juan Camara and Gerard Gumbau from Barca B and Carles Alena of Juvenil A will go to Mestalla.
Alena, tipped to go all the way in some quarters, famously scored a wonderful solo goal during a UEFA Youth League meeting with Roma last year.
He is joined by 12 senior players but there is no involvement for any of the regular front three of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, Messi having had treatment for kidney stones on Tuesday.
Andres Iniesta, Dani Alves, Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano are all also rested, with arguably only Ivan Rakitic of Enrique’s preferred first XI in line to face Los Che.
Barcelona squad to play Valencia:
Ter Stegen, Masip, Douglas, Vidal, Bartra, Mathieu, Vermaelen, Adriano, Rakitc, Gumbau, Samper, Camara, Romera, Kaptoum, Alena, Sergi Roberto, Munir, Sandro.
