He might have represented Liverpool for eight years, but that hasn’t stopped Michael Owen naming a host of former and current Manchester United players in his England Dream XI.

Owen opted for Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney in his team during a video feature with FA TV.
The striker-turned-commentator, who scored 40 goals in 89 England appearances, attempted to placate former attacking partners Alan Shearer and Rooney by including them both – although he had to shunt the latter out to the left flank.
There was only one spot in attack available, with Owen electing to hand himself a starting role in the team.
Former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard earns a spot in the United-dominated midfield, while Arsenal great David Seaman gets the nod in goal.
However, there’s no place for John Terry in Owen’s list, with Tony Adams partnering Ferdinand at the heart of the defence.
