Zinedine Zidane has made no secret of his admiration for Mbappe, whose 26 goals and 14 assists fired Monaco to their first Ligue 1 title in 17 years and the Champions League semi-finals, but Vasilyev has insisted that the principality club won't be bullied into selling their star asset:
Kylian Mbappe has no price. If he wants to leave then we’ll discuss it. Are we ready to refuse an offer of €100m? Of course, no doubt!
"We want to keep him for at least one more season so he can continue his formidable progression and help us dream bigger," Vasilyev continued. “Our wish is to extend Mbappe’s contract, that’s a certainty. We’ve said to all the players that we won’t talk about the future before the end of the season.
“I insist no player has talked about his future, not one. We’ve all been focused, otherwise we wouldn’t have won this title.”

OUR VIEW:

Would Monaco sell Kylian Mbappe for 100 million Euros? Of course they would.
Mbappe has been a revelation, but a world-record fee for a young player who has barely had a season at the top level is crazy money. Vadim Vasilyev knows that too - all he's trying to do is manipulate the conversation so that any talk of a move for Mbappe is paired with discussions about Paul Pogba-level money.
Yes Monaco would love to keep their most talented players, but the model of the club is to develop young players on and sell them at a profit to reinvest back into the squad, so this sort of deal would be completely in keeping with that philosphy.
Whether Mbappe should go to Real Madrid is a different matter entirely. A couple of years sat on the bench at the Bernabeu would be a criminal waste of his crucial development years, and he'd be wise to make sure he ends up in a squad that affords him regular playing time - be that a Monaco or elsewhere.
