Gianni Vio worked with the Italian giants last season having previously coached at Catania and Fiorentina.
Also joining the growing number of coaching staff is Tom Bates, who has been a coach and performance psychologist at West Brom for the past three years.
The Bees have also promoted youth coach Bartek Sylwestrzak, who is, according to the club website, "a specialist in helping players with ball striking and technique", to work with the first team.
Another new face at Griffin Park is former Derby and England Under-21 defender Paul Williams, who has been appointed logistics manager.
Williams will work closely with co-directors of football Rasmus Ankersen and Phil Giles, as well as another new appointment, head of football operations Robert Rowan.
The changes are all part of owner Matthew Benham's change in philosophy at the club following the departure of manager Mark Warburton at the end of the season.
In his place came head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen, his assistant Roy Hendriksen and - who could forget - head of football philosophy and player development Flemming Pedersen.
