Boss Tony Mowbray admits he is planning a summer overhaul as he looks at his Coventry squad.
The Sky Blues boss only has 13 players definitely at the Ricoh Arena for next year.
Frank Nouble, Marcus Tudgay and Simeon Jackson are all out of contract in the summer while loanees including Dominic Samuel and Matt Pennington are due to leave at the end of the season.
Mowbray also only signed a deal until the end of the campaign when he replaced Steven Pressley this month but he is looking to the future.
"I have been looking at the contracts of the players over the last few days; how many players have we got for next year," he told the Coventry Telegraph."I'm trying to put plans together.
"At the moment we've got 13 but it's not really enough because some of those are young and won't necessarily impact on the team yet.
"So we need to recruit more players in the summer. You have to plan and know where you are going. I have a sheet in my office of what the team might look like next year.
"We are where we are at the minute."
Coventry are a point above the Sky Bet League One relegation zone ahead of Saturday's trip to Peterborough and Mowbray is eager to make his mark.
"My job is to try to galvanise the players we've got here," he said.
"This club needs a bit of pride in the club, some glue to stick it all together and then you can bring the fans in and you are going in the right direction.
"Is it a positive that so many are out of contract? Probably because it means we can get new players in."
