Niall McGinn hails Aberdeen character after comeback win over Ross County

Northern Ireland forward Niall McGinn says he and his Aberdeen team-mates know they have the quality to come back from adversity after they completed a remarkable second-half turnaround to beat Ross County.

The 3-1 win at Pittodrie was just their second win in their past eight Ladbrokes Premiership matches, having won all of their first eight this term, and he admits the Dons players have faced some justified criticism in the last few weeks.
He said: "Playing for a big club, and when you're not winning games, you can expect some criticism. We know that we're good enough to turn things round.
"We're all entitled to criticism when we're not doing well, but the players know that themselves."
Few within Pittodrie would have seen a home victory on the horizon at half-time with the visitors having overrun Aberdeen so comprehensively, and McGinn added that there was little need for anger from the management team.
"We know ourselves the first half wasn't good enough," he said.
"We gathered around each other and had a word, and the manager had his say too. We knew we had to go out and completely change what had happened in the first half, and thankfully we did that.
"Ross County are a good side and have shown that over the season so to get this result, with probably a bit of pressure on our shoulders after last week, we can come away happy."
Although the result did not go in favour of his side, County manager Jim McIntyre felt there was much to be positive about in his side's performance.
"We're a completely different team to the one that came here and lost 4-0 last season," he stated.
"Teams who play us know they're going to get a game, and as disappointed as I am, we've come a long way in a year.
"There are positives to take, albeit it's a defeat, and a sore one to take, especially having been a goal in front."
However, McIntyre concedes there is still room for improvement in regards his side's away form, adding: "We've drawn three and won one, so we need to turn more of those into victories.
"Our form at home has been excellent, whereas last season it was the opposite - it took us a long time to win at home.
"We're doing a lot of things well but we need to be a wee bit more streetwise, and when teams have a spell on top, make sure we stand up to it better."
