Dundee manager Paul Hartley believed his side showed grit to match their skill as they secured a last-gasp draw with Inverness in their Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match at Dens Park on Saturday.
The Dark Blues have been hailed for their fluent style of play but had to rely more on guts than flair with Kane Hemmings' injury-time equaliser cancelling out David Raven's 60th-minute opener for John Hughes' side.
Inverness are still searching for their first win of the new league campaign and had striker Andrea Mutombo sent off in the dying seconds for lashing out at Nick Ross.
Dundee had to get over Greg Stewart missing an 83rd-minute penalty and Hartley believes that their performance illustrates their desire to dig out results.
He said: "It was all about hanging in there. So I've got to give the players a lot of credit for their attitude and not giving up.
"It was a disappointment with Greg missing the penalty but we kept going which you have to do when the game is like that.
"We didn't want to lose going into the international break.
"Inverness are a good side and have proved that over the years.
"We just have to concentrate on ourselves and try to get back to winning ways in our next game against Partick Thistle."
Inverness manager Hughes, meanwhile felt for his players after throwing away their lead so late in the match.
Hughes said: "It was just one of those days.
"We looked like we had done enough to get that first win. But football has a habit of doing that to you.
"We have to look to the next game now. But there are positives to take from this match.
"We could have taken our chances but there's no point looking back."
