Swansea's 3-2 victory over Newcastle United left the home side facing their seventh straight defeat under John Carver.
The game started with another boycott from the home fans against owner Mike Ashley, leading to an exceptionally quiet St James’ Park.
Despite that, it was Newcastle who took the lead when Federico Fernandez cut out a Vurnon Anita cross, only to stab the ball into the path of Ayoze Perez, who finished into an empty net.
Newcastle held on until the end of the first half when Nelson Oliveira headed in from yet another corner which Newcastle had failed to properly defend.
In the second half, Newcastle quickly fell behind when Gylfi Sigurdsson clipped a neat finish inside the near post. At that point, Newcastle gave up, meaning Jack Cork made it three, tapping into an open net.
With a couple of minutes left Siem De Jong sidefooted a volley past Lukasz Fabianski to worry Swansea, but the away side simply maintained possession until the full time whistle arrived.

50’ - GOAL! Newcastle 1-2 Swansea. Sigurdsson scores: Boos ring out. Krul clears to Shelvey, and he plays the ball out left to Montero. Montero scoots down the left, plays a ball inside for Oliveira to leave with a dummy, and Sigurdsson meets the ball to clip to Krul's right, off the post and in.

TALKING POINT
Newcastle fans need to keep up the boycott. Newcastle were utterly dreadful, even when they took the lead. It is not that Newcastle need to try to win the league to keep their fans happy, they just have to try to win a game at all. Some ambition will keep a club functioning and occasionally overachieving. The underinvestment and lack of desire in this side condemns them to play as wretchedly as they did today. Only a boycott, costing Mike Ashley money, might change things.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City): After playing in the diamond for the last few weeks, a move closer to the attack in Bafetimbi Gomis' absence gave the Icelandic player the chance to have more of an influence on the game. His goal for Swansea killed off Newcastle at the start of the second half, and spurred his side to victory.
