RODGERS 'HAS NO IDEA' IF STERLING WILL STAY: Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted he does not know if Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract at Anfield. with Manchester City ready to make a £50 million bid, the Sun reports. Rodgers confirmed that Sterling has put off contract discussions until the end of the season, when he will have only a year to run on his existing deal. He said: "The club have received that advice from his advisor and Raheem has mentioned it to me himself." Sterling has reportedly turned down a £100,000-a-week offer and is holding out for £150,000-a-week.
PAPER ROUND'S VIEW: Sterling is one of Liverpool's best players, so it's unsurprising he wants to be paid like it, and hardball negotiations are par for the course these days. Rodgers said he "can't predict" the outcome and neither can we. But we do feel a move away from Liverpool would be a risky one for the player's development.

FALCAO 'REDUCED TO TEARS' BY UNITED ORDEAL: Radamel Falcao's former agent has revealed the unhappy extent of the striker's Manchester United woes, the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror report. They quote Silvano Espindola as saying: "We speak a lot. I am not going to tell you that he feels happy because he isn’t. We speak many times, and we cry together." He also said Falcao is scared of getting injured playing for United reserves.
PAPER ROUND'S VIEW: Falcao won't appreciate Espindola blabbing to the press, but it's hardly news that the Colombian is unhappy. It looks very unlikely that United will pick up their £45m option to sign him permanently - barring a late season flurry of goals.

EVERTON TARGET MONACO STARLET MARTIAL: Monaco forward Anthony Martial is the man Roberto Martinez wants to partner Romelu Lukaku up front. The 19-year-old is one of Europe's most-coveted young players, and the Daily Mirror claims Everton are "tracking" his progress - which this week meant switching on ITV to watch him play an hour against Arsenal.
PAPER ROUND'S VIEW: Martial would be a terrific coup for Everton, but he is about to play a Champions League semi-final. Everton would need to convince him of their top-four credentials - no easy task considering they sit just six points above the relegation zone.

TOTTENHAM TO SIGN WIMMER, KABOUL AND CHIRICHES IN DANGER: Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing Cologne's Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer, and the Guardian thinks this could be bad news for Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches. It says the pair could find themselves surplus to requirements after falling from favour at White Hart Lane.
PAPER ROUND'S VIEW: The claim is not based on anything more than simple logic - but it does seem entirely plausible that one or both players will be leaving as Mauricio Pochettino looks to revamp his defence. Whether the little-known Wimmer is the answer remains to be seen.
