Arsenal poised to complete deal for Martinez - Arsenal are close to sealing a £24.7 million deal for Jackson Martinez, per The Express. Porto don't want to sell the striker, but have admitted that if a big offer comes in, they will have to let him go. Arsene Wenger thinks very highly of Jackson and believes he can lead the line for the Gunners. The club have made him a priority and want to get the transfer done as they prepare for a title challenge next season. According to the paper, this deal is one that should go through pretty soon with Arsenal keen to get their business done earlier.
Paper Round's view - Jackson is a very good striker who would immediately become the Gunners' best option up front. He's shown he can score in Portugal, in the Champions League and internationally. The fee of £24.7 million is a lot of money for a player, especially a 28-year-old, but strikers don't come cheap and it would take a bid of around that money to get Porto to sell. If the Gunners want him, they'll have to pay up. Fans will be delighted if Wenger finally shows a willingness to buy a top striker in his prime.
United lead the way for Bacca - Manchester United appear to be the most likely club to land Carlos Bacca. Sources have told The Metro that the Red Devils have emerged as the favourites for the Sevilla striker and look set to beat out AS Roma and AC Milan for the Colombian. United have yet to begin negotiations with Sevilla for the striker, but they are expected to do so soon and should be able to get the deal done for £21.3 million.
Paper Round's view - Bacca is riding high after scoring a brace in the Europa League final, giving him 49 goals in two seasons for Sevilla. Several clubs are going to make a run at him and Man United could be one of them because it's clear they want to add a player or two up front. Still, it's pretty tough for anyone to be a favourite if they haven't even talked to the selling club yet.

Ings to choose between Liverpool, Spurs in next 10 days - Danny Ings will have to choose between Liverpool and Tottenham and The Telegraph believe that he will do so in the next 10 days. Spurs have bid £12 million for the striker, which is much more than Liverpool's £5 million valuation. Liverpool have yet to submit a bid, which Burnley are waiting on, but because Ings is out of contract, the fee may be set by a tribunal. All the while, Ings prefers Liverpool, but that £12 million bid looms.
Paper Round's view - The competing bids, as well as the possibility of a tribunal, make the whole situation complicated. Ings wants to move to Liverpool, but what if Spurs' bid means the Reds have to bid nearly that much to land him? Will they? And if they just sign him, leaving the fee to a tribunal, what if Spurs' bid pushes the tribunal's decision close to the £12 million? Liverpool may just opt out of the Ings race altogether because of this. No one knows because, while Liverpool want Ings, they have put a price on him and they can guarantee they'll get him for that, no matter what the player wants. If he chooses Spurs, this all becomes much easier.

City to offer Milner £165,000-per-week - Manchester City aren't going to concede defeat on James Milner just yet. The Manchester Evening News claims that the Citizens plan to offer the out-of-contract midfielder £165,000-per-week in the hope of getting him to stay at the Etihad. Liverpool and Arsenal are said to be after Milner and it appeared as if City had accepted that he wanted to leave, but they're giving it a final try.
Paper Round's view - City can offer Milner big money. Liverpool and Arsenal can too, though, with a signing-on fee covering whatever difference there is in wages between them and City. Money is unlikely to be the determining factor for Milner because it will likely be about the same at all three clubs. It's all about convincing Milner that the club has stability, a bright future and that he can be a central part of it. City have to sort that out as much as the £165,000-per-week.

Moyes says no to Sunderland - David Moyes has told Sunderland that he's not interested in their job opening. The Mail understands that after the two sides had some initial talks, Moyes told the club that he would not take over as their manager. Sunderland are ready to offer big wages and a fair amount of money to spend in the transfer market, but that wasn't enough to sway Moyes. Paul Clement is also set to snub the Black Cats for Derby, leaving Steve McClaren and Sam Allardyce as the likely candidates up next.
Paper Round's view - Moyes has a pretty good gig at Real Sociedad. It'd be understandable if he wanted to return to England, but he's not desperate for a job so he can afford to be choosy. Sunderland isn't a job that he has to take, so he hasn't. McClaren and Allardyce are much more likely to take the gig as both are out of jobs and are comfortable with clubs that are far from the top of the table.
