Juventus preparing big bid for Sterling: Juventus look likely to sell Paul Pogba this summer and want to take £50 million from that sale to buy Raheem Sterling, according to The Sun. Pogba's sale could bring in as much as £75 million, giving the Italian giants plenty of money to spend. Now they are making Sterling a priority. The Englishman hasn't signed a new contract with Liverpool and Juventus have joined a long line of teams hoping they can sign the starlet.
Paper Round's view: With every big club in Europe eyeing Pogba, Juventus know that they will probably have to sell. So it makes sense to get busy making plans for what to do with the money Pogba brings in, and Sterling would be a good way to bring back some quality, youth and a big name to pacify fans. Juventus have a lot to offer and appear set to rejoin Europe's elite, so they're realistically in the picture; but have they really made the jump from just being in the picture to beating out the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain? This will be as a big a test of that as anything.

Liverpool agree to big new deal with Henderson: Liverpool don't have to worry about Jordan Henderson leaving this summer. The Telegraph claims that the Reds have agreed a new contract with Henderson worth £100,000-per-week. Henderson's contract was set to enter its final season this summer, fuelling speculation that he might leave Anfield, but now he's tied to the club long-term and set to become the captain after Steven Gerrard leaves for LA Galaxy.
Paper Round's view: Liverpool couldn't afford to lose Henderson. With Gerrard on the way out and Raheem Sterling's future in doubt, the Reds needed to do everything they could to retain their future captain and they have done just that. The new deal won't come cheap to Liverpool, but Henderson is well worth the money and he deserves it for his play, his leadership and what he means to a club facing uncertainty.

McClaren to join Newcastle if Derby aren't promote: Steve McClaren has decided that he will become the Newcastle manager if he cannot get Derby to the top flight. The Star understands that McClaren is committed to Derby only to the end of this season, which will likely see the Rams in the promotion play-offs. If they win the play-offs and get to the Premier League he will lead the team against next season, but if not, he'll make the jump to Newcastle.
Paper Round's view: It's become clear that McClaren is Newcastle's first choice to take over after a rough season. Mike Ashley appears committed to landing the manager and will even back him with some money in the transfer window. But as good as that situation sounds, McClaren won't leave a Derby team he got promoted so it's all dependent on whether the Rams go up. All of this is an easy decision for McClaren, but it won't be easy for Newcastle and Derby to watch the play-offs knowing how much is on the line. Either way, though, McClaren is back in the Premier League - and it's probably about time too.

Liverpool to battle Man United for Depay: Memphis Depay has been earmarked for Manchester United, but The Express believes that Liverpool are ready to challenge the Red Devils for the 21-year-old's signature. PSV are resigned to losing Depay and Man United aren't just interested, they have money to spend, plus Louis van Gaal managed Depay at the World Cup. Liverpool are trying to find another young player for their attack, though, and want Depay to team up with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho.
Paper Round's view: It's natural for Liverpool to want Depay. He's a fantastic player. But lots of teams want the 21-year-old and they don't have a chance, just like Liverpool may not have a chance. Asking Depay to pass on a Champions League club for a stay at Anfield is probably asking for too much - especially when the competition can not only offer that, but also a manager he knows, and quite possibly higher wages as well.

Klopp turned down West Ham: West Ham are aiming high in their quest to find a new manager and reached out to Juergen Klopp to gauge his interest, but the German rejected them according to The Mirror. Klopp announced he would leave Borussia Dortmund after the season finishes and would have been a dream hire for West Ham. That isn't going to happen, but even with Klopp out of the picture, the Hammers are apparently still set on sacking Sam Allardyce after the end of the season.
Paper Round's view: Seeking out Klopp is hugely ambitious on West Ham's part. He's been linked to clubs far bigger than them, but this is a club set to move into a new stadium that could change the way they do business. It's good to see them trying to make big things happen and nothing was lost in trying. They were no doubt hoping that Klopp would take the job while biding his time for the hot seat at Old Trafford, the Emirates or Anfield to open up; but realistically, Klopp wasn't going to take the gig. Still, West Ham are thinking big and are willing to put money behind that thinking, so they could make a splash with whoever they do hire.

Ince to join Derby permanently: Tom Ince is ready to make his move to Derby permanent and Hull are going to let it happen. The Sun says that Hull have agreed to sell Ince to Derby for £5.75 million. That will let him stay at the club where he has been on loan and helped them into a promotion play-off place.
Paper Round's view: Ince never settled at Hull City and they're better off taking the money they can get from him. They can reinvest it and try to improve a woeful squad for next season. Meanwhile, Ince gets to stay somewhere he has proven comfortable and productive. He may even be in the Premier League next year, too. This was a no-brainer for both clubs.
