PSV winger Memphis Depay seems keen to seal a quick move to Old Trafford this summer as he jets in for talks, plus the rest of the day's big stories.

Depay in England to 'seal' Man United move - Memphis Depay has flown to England with his agent and is talking to Manchester United about a move to Old Trafford. The Sun say that the two sides are discussing a £25 million deal that would pay him £130,000-per-week. Paris Saint-Germain are also chasing the 21-year-old, but the Red Devils think that the established relationship between Depay and Louis van Gaal, who coached him at the World Cup, will be enough to get the transfer done.
Paper Round's view - Depay has always been likely to sign with Manchester United. They're a giant club, are willing to pay him huge money, are back in the Champions League and van Gaal has managed him before. This is just a matter of finalising the deal before other clubs can get in to hijack it and meeting with Depay now to wrap it up is just good business since PSV are resigned to losing him and won't stand in the way. To all intents and purposes, it looks as though United have sealed their first signing of the summer.

Varane and Bale look likely to stay in Madrid

Real Madrid tell Chelsea they can't have Bale or Varane - Chelsea want Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane and were ready to pay £100m for them. Too bad. The Sun claim Real Madrid have told the Blues they can't have the Welsh winger or the French defender. Jose Mourinho is prepared to spend huge money this summer and targeted the Real Madrid pair. He sees Bale as a way to add pace, while he'd love to make Varane and Kurt Zouma his centre-backs of the future, but the Merengues won't entertain talks.
Paper Round's view - Why wouldn't Chelsea want Bale and Varane? They're already the best team in England and that move would cement their place in the country, while making them one of the favourites in Europe too. But Real Madrid don't need Chelsea's money and they aren't in the business of selling their best players. Mourinho can want the pair all he wants, but good luck trying to get them right now.

Wesley Sneijder of Galatasaray

Man United to battle PSG for Sneijder - Manchester United are back in for Wesley Sneijder and they're going to fight with Paris Saint-Germain for him, according to The Metro. Galatasaray are going to sell the 30-year-old this summer and PSG are favourites for his signature. But Louis van Gaal likes Sneijder too and is ready to throw his hat in the ring.
Paper Round's view - It's not a transfer window until Manchester United are linked to Sneijder. It happens every six months and it may seem more realistic now that van Gaal manages the Red Devils, but we've seen this too many times. Sneijder will be linked to Man United in the summer of 2056.

Javier Hernandez celebrates his winning goal for Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid

West Ham eyeing Chicharito - West Ham want Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to be part of their summer transfer haul, according to The Mail. The Hammers are planning to sign a slew of players and believe Chicharito can be part of their overhaul. Real Madrid don't intend to keep the striker after his loan is over and Manchester United don't want to keep him. He's also going to be in the last year of his deal at Old Trafford so he can be had for just £7m.
Paper Round's view - Chicharito may not be good enough for Real Madrid or Manchester United, but he is a good player and would be a nice addition to West Ham. The problem for the Hammers is they aren't going to be the only team interested in signing the 26-year-old Mexican. They're gong to have to convince Chicharito that they're the best place for him, which could be tough considering they're expected to be in a bit of transition with a possible new manager and several new signings.

Hull's Jake Livermore is likely to move if the Tigers are relegated

Aston Villa to chase Livermore - Tim Sherwood wants to bring Jake Livermore to Aston Villa and The Mirror believe that he will do just that if Hull are relegated. Sherwood worked with Livermore when they were both at Tottenham and likes the midfielder. The 25-year-old has played well for Hull after signing for £8m last summer.
Paper Round's view - Sherwood is looking to add midfielders in the summer, with Tom Cleverley his top choice, but he could add several and Livermore may well be one of them. The two have a prior relationship and if Hull are relegated, they won't have a choice but to sell the midfielder. That would also mean a reasonable transfer fee for Aston Villa, who aren't in a position to spend big money.

Competition for Andre Ayew is likely to be fierce

Newcastle to spend big for Ayew - Several clubs want to sign Andre Ayew this summer, but The Mirror claim that Newcastle are going to make him a big four-year offer to get in first. Ayew's contract with Marseille expires this summer and Liverpool, Everton, Swansea, Roma and Borussia Dortmund are all interested. The Ghana international almost joined Queens Park Rangers in January, but ownership vetoed the deal.
Paper Round's view - It's not every day that a team can sign a quality 25-year-old forward for free so of course several teams want to sign Ayew. That competition means that whoever signs him will have shelled out a good chunk of cash to do it and Newcastle are a good bet. They need a forward and Mike Ashley must invest this summer, so the Magpies will do all they can to land Ayew.
