Agent: Raheem Sterling 'won't sign for £900k a week ... Carragher's a knob'

Raheem Sterling’s agent has said the player will not sign a new contract from Liverpool even if he is offered £900,000-per week, as well as describing Jamie Carragher as a “knob” in a furious outburst.
Agent Aidy Ward stated in the most forceful terms that there is no chance of Sterling staying at Liverpool in an extraordinary interview with the Evening Standard.
Sterling is expected to inform Brendan Rodgers of his wish to leave Liverpool at the end of the season in a meeting on Friday but the sitdown has been pre-empted by Ward denying there is any chance of Liverpool retaining the England international, 20.
After a week of controversy, and following bitter negotiations which have cast player, agent and club in an unfavourable light at times, Ward told the Evening Standard: “I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don’t care.
“He is definitely not signing. He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.
“My job is to make sure I do the best with them (my clients). If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter.”
Ward has been personally blamed for Sterling’s decision to turn away from Liverpool and was heavily criticised when the forward conducted an interview with the BBC in April to deny he was a “money-grabber”.
Sterling was booed this week when collecting an award at Liverpool’s end of season do and has been subject to sustained criticism from former Liverpool players for his refusal to sign a new deal, most notably Jamie Carragher, who told him to “keep your mouth shut”.
But Ward responded to the Sky Sports pundit: “Carragher is a k**b. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players - none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.”
“I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every Premier League club will make a bid for him.”
Ward has reportedly denied making the comments to Sky Sports News.
