Arsenal must navigate the start of the Premier League season without Alexis Sanchez, who will be handed extra recovery time following his Copa America exploits.

The Chile star netted the winning penalty as Chile edged Argentina on spotkicks to win the tournament on home soil.
The majority of Arsenal’s squad will report for pre-season training in the next few days, but Sanchez has been granted an extra three weeks off.
Sanchez is due back at Arsenal on July 27, according to multiple media reports – just six days before the Gunners’ contest the Charity Shield and 13 days before the Premier League season begins.
That means Sanchez is near-certain to miss the Wembley showdown with Chelsea and Arsenal's top-flight opener against West Ham.
He has not enjoyed a full summer break for two years after also starring in Chile’s run to the World Cup last 16 in 2014.
Sanchez’s permitted absence follows a similar approach to last season when Germany’s World Cup-winning trio Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski were all eased back into domestic action.
The Gunners also have visits to Crystal Palace and Newcastle scheduled in for September, with a home clash against Liverpool sandwiched in between.
