Dutch club Utrecht turn to CAS over Swansea's sale of Michel Vorm to Tottenham

Swansea's sale of Michel Vorm to Tottenham will be the subject of a court hearing next month.

Dutch club Utrecht are taking Swansea to the Court of Arbitration for Sport b ecause they say they are owed a sell-on fee for the goalkeeper they sold to Swansea for £1.5m in 2011.

Utrecht insist they are owed 30 per cent of whatever Swansea received for Vorm in July 2014, citing a sell-on clause in the deal when the player arrived in Wales from Holland three years earlier.

Vorm, 32, left Swansea on the same day as defender Ben Davies, with forward Gylfi Sigurdsson going the other way.

Utrecht have questioned why Vorm, a Holland international with two years on his contract at the time, was given a zero value in the transactions and CAS will now hear the case on January 29.

The Eredivisie outfit have already had their case dismissed by world football's governing body FIFA and Swansea manager Garry Monk, speaking about the case in September, said the Welsh club had done nothing wrong over the Vorm transfer.

"From our side everything is fine and I'm sure the club has followed everything to the letter," Monk said when it was revealed Utrecht were taking the matter to CAS.

"I'm not worried. We're a perfectly run club and the decision earlier in the season from FIFA showed it was all okay.

"I think that proves everything, and if they (Utrecht) want to pursue it, that will be left to the chairman and the board and the administration side to deal with it."
