There was a clear development on Thursday evening when multiple sources reported that United are now within touching distance of re-signing the player who left for a small compensation fee when his contract expired in 2012.
Just after 4pm, The Guardian reported that United are currently:
preparing the contracts and documents to finalise the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus for €110m (£93m) plus add-ons.
The paper added that Juve were poised to officially accept the bid from United – although the matter of Mino Raiola’s agent fee, reportedly as high as €25m, and the structure of added fees still needs to be resolved.
Within minutes, ESPNFC reported that United had agreed to pay €120m for the player, and:
are now hoping to come to an agreement over the final fees in order to clinch the deal by this weekend.
Although the reported transfer fee is slightly different, both sources are unanimous in declaring that it is only the fine details which are still to be resolved and United are now closer than ever to signing the France star.
ESPN said Pogba could even have a United medical on Friday in Miami, where he is currently enjoying a holiday.
