Sergio Aguero has once again been hit with an injury, getting stretchered off during Argentina's 2-0 defeat against Ecuador on Thursday night.

Aguero had scored five goals at the weekend, getting City's Premier League campaign back on track after Manuel Pellegini's side had suffered a string of humbling defeats.
But City's hopes have been dented by news that their star striker has once again picked up an injury while in top form.
The 27-year-old suffered similar setbacks during each of the last three seasons.

LATEST NEWS

Aguero underwent tests on Friday, with the Argentinian FA announcing he had suffered a "grade two muscle tear to the left hamstring".
The striker claimed afterwards: "I think I'll be a month without playing." He will now miss Manchester City's game against Manchester United on October 25.
He added: "I'll go the AFA (Argentine Football Association) national team compound to carry on with treatment. To recover from the tear I'll surely need a month although it will depend how it evolves."

NEW INJURY

Perhaps the worst aspect of the news is that this is a new injury for Aguero. He had been carrying a knock suffered in the Champions League last week, but the latest incident appears to be a hamstring strain.
"I haven't spoken to the doctor but I can confirm the injury is not the same as the one he had been carrying with his club," said Argentina coach Gerardo Martino.

AGUERO 'WAS IN TEARS'

Aguero's City team-mate Nicolas Otamendi said Aguero had been distraught and was crying in the dressing room after the injury.
"He had been having a great time and was playing well," Otamendi said after the match.

OUT OF PARAGUAY GAME

Argentina coach Martino confirmed that Aguero will miss next week's World Cup qualifier against Paraguay in Asuncion.
"Aguero had a problem from his last game with City, where he played well for 65 minutes," Martino told reporters after the match.
"We looked after him this week, he was moving well, very comfortable, but he felt the strain and unfortunately we are going to lose him."

OUT OF MANCHESTER DERBY

If Aguero is convinced he'll be out for a month then there is no chance he will be fit for the Manchester derby on October 25.

PELLEGRINI: AGUERO ALREADY INJURED, AND HE WAS WHEN HE SCORED FIVE

Pellegrini had confirmed that Aguero was injured even during the match where he enjoyed his stunning haul against Newcastle.
"He had a serious kick from [last Wednesday in the Champions League] in Germany. He was having some treatment during half-time," said Pellegrini, who hauled the striker off shortly after he had scored his fifth goal.
"To give him more minutes, maybe he would have scored one or two goals more, but we need more to take a precaution about his kick because he could get injured."
