United have said they will not entertain a deal with the Spanish giants unless Real defender Sergio Ramos is included in negotiations, only now the 29-year-old is reportedly staying at the Bernabeu..
With the situation as it currently is, the United boss has said the 24-year-old goalkeeper’s desire to join Real Madrid is not good for the Spaniard or for the club.
"We have a situation that is not favourable for David De Gea, neither for us and neither for the club that, maybe, he wants to go," said Van Gaal.
De Gea was replaced at half-time as United slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Paris St-Germain in Wednesday night's International Champions Cup game in Chicago.
Van Gaal’s views on De Gea followed him admitting on Friday that he has “no idea” of the whereabouts of club-record signing Angel Di Maria.

The midfielder, who was signed for £59.7m from Real Madrid last summer, failed to return for pre-season training on Saturday as scheduled amid speculation over a potential move to PSG.
Asked if he knew where the 27-year-old was, Van Gaal said: "Maybe you know."
When the journalist said he did not, Van Gaal said: "I don't know either."
Meanwhile, PSG coach Laurent Blanc said: "Manchester United and PSG are two big clubs and negotiations can be difficult, but we are close to the end."
