Chelsea told to forget landing Max Allegri

The Sun go with the story that Chelsea will struggle to land Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri this summer. Beppe Marotta, the Juventus owner, is apparently convinced that money will not be able to persuade the manager of the Old Lady to cash in his chips at the end of the season. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is apparently hunting for a new coach to succeed interim coach Guus Hiddink this summer, but Marotta is quoted as telling the Sun that it would not be his man Max. "We have a great rapport with Allegri," said Marotta. "Now the crucial moment of the season is coming up, so we should focus on that. In any case, contracts are not as important as the rapport between people. With Allegri the conditions are all there to continue. The team is doing well and improving a great deal."

Paper Round's view: Juventus are engaged in a mighty confrontation with Napoli to retain the Serie A title. They are two points behind the Naples side with 14 matches remaining. Whether or not Allegri remains in Turin may come down to whether Juventus secure a fifth straight Scudetto. And it may also come down to Marotta's willingness to keep Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala, both of whom have been linked with a host of European teams. It is difficult not to feel a bit cautious when one man suggests another man won't be swayed by the salary he could earn. Money talks nowhere louder than in football. If Allegri has the chance to substantially boost his salary in the Premier League, would he really spurn such an opportunity?

United and Inter battle for free agent Ever Banega

The Daily Star claim United and Italian giants Inter are both chasing Ever Banega, 27, who arrived at Sevilla from Valencia in 2014 via successful loan spells at Atletico Madrid and Newell's Old Boys. Banega has 38 caps for his country and is out of contract this summer. According to Inter sources in Italy, United have picked up the scent of their desire to land the player, and would be keen to secure a wages only package for such a talented figure. "That's just talk,” said his agent of Inter's interest on Friday. "As for his renewal with Sevilla, I have no way of knowing whether it's a possibility. Honestly every Argentinean footballer would appreciate playing for Inter, but for now there's nothing concrete.”

Paper Round's view: Juventus were apparently favourites to sign Banega then Inter and now United. There is little doubt that United are in pole position to sign such a figure if it comes down to hard cash. Will the lure of the Premier League draw him to England? There remains a chance that Sevilla could retain the player, but they simply do not have the money to compete with United. In fairness, neither do Inter. United certainly would not say no to a playmaker, and it sounds like his agent his keeping his options open. As you would if you were any agent.

Ctiy keen to secure Sergio Aguero on new contract

Manchester City are in talks with Sergio Aguero over a new contract, according to the Daily Mail. If the forward agrees to sign the one-year contract extension on the table, he would be a City player until he is 31 in 2020. Aguero is apparently earning a basic contract of £150,000, claims the Mail.

Paper Round's view: Even when City struggle, the Argentina forward shines. With City being flogged 3-1 by leaders Leicester on Saturday, it was Aguero who popped up with their consolation goal in taking his haul to 18 for the season. Aguero remains a remarkable forward, and this news has probably been prompted by incoming coach Pep Guardiola, who will realise the worth of such a player as he begins his rebuilding project at the Etihad Stadium. Aguero is apparently keen to finish his career at first love Independiente in his homeland. But first he is facing a wage hike and another five years representing Pep's City.

Neymar keen to remain at Barcelona

Neymar is happy at Barcelona despite ongoing tax issues and won't be leaving Spain this summer, says The Sun. The newspaper quote the club's technical director Roberto Fernandez in suggesting Neymar is not seeking a move elsewhere despite being linked with Manchester City and United in recent days in transfers worth £150m. "Neymar and his management are very happy and we are very relaxed," said Fernandez. "The club stands by the player. These things happen and we shouldn’t dwell on it. The important thing is that he is happy and that’s something we can see in every game he plays."

Paper Round's view: There has been a lot of excitement swirling around Neymar after he recently expressed an admiration to work with new City manager Pep, but that does not mean such a scenario will play out any time soon. Barcelona's attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are an explosive force, and Barca are unlikely want to split up the threesome as they attempt to replicate their five-trophy haul of 2015 this year. It won't be easy, but they have a real chance with MSN excelling. It may sound outlandish but in football terms, Neymar is probably worth more than £150m.
