Paul Pogba doesn't want to leave Juventus yet, United have a new target, while Tottenham are still chasing Saido Berahino. That and more from the Monday papers.

United eyeing Martial - Manchester United have reportedly turned to Monaco to solve their striker woes. The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils have begun negotiations with Monaco over Anthony Martial and have offered the Ligue 1 side £36m for the teenager. Monaco do not want to sell Martial and did not accept United's bid, but they will continue talks with the Red Devils. Martial has also been the subject of Chelsea and Tottenham's interest, with Spurs submitting a £19m bid earlier this summer.
Paper Round's view - Martial is a brilliantly talented young player, but United are taking a big risk by going in for £36m at this point in his career. If he makes good on his Thierry Henry comparisons then he's obviously a steal, but that's a big if. Regardless, he won't make a huge impact right away and will have some ups and downs so the Red Devils will need to sign another striker along with him or they're going to be extremely dependent on Wayne Rooney.

Pogba will say no to Chelsea - Paul Pogba isn't ready to sign for Chelsea. The Sun understands that the French midfielder will block any potential move to the Blues and instead wait until next summer to make a move. Chelsea are ready to offer £69 million for Pogba, but he's content to spend another year at Juventus, star at the Euros and then watch Chelsea, Barcelona and the rest of Europe's biggest clubs vie for his signature. He should be able to command £300,000-per-week then too, according to the paper.
Paper Round's view - Pogba is happy at Juventus so there's little reason for him to demand a move and with the Euros on home soil. It reasons that he wants nothing more than to star there and watch his value rise still further. Staying at Juve puts him in a strong position to do that because he won't have to deal with adjusting to another club and, barring injury, his value is only going to go up. He can be patient and this could be a very wise decision.
Spurs to make last ditch bid for Berahino - West Brom insist Saido Berahino is not for sale, but The Mirror claims that Tottenham are still holding out hope of landing the striker. The Baggies already turned back two bids from Spurs and Berahino's transfer request didn't change their tune as relations between the two clubs soured. Still, Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign Berahino if Spurs come back with an improved bid following their last £20 million offer.
Paper Round's view - It takes some guts for Spurs to go back to West Brom after how the previous negotiations have gone, but Daniel Levy has never been scared to upset someone. He's the type to go back in with another bid and have no fear of the reaction from the Baggies. But at this point, with how adamant West Brom have been, they probably don't have a chance unless they reach at least £25m.

Bournemouth trying to sign Austin - Bournemouth are hoping to strengthen their strike force by nabbing Charlie Austin, according to The Mirror. Eddie Howe thinks the team need to get better up front and Austin is his favourite target. QPR have been demanding £15m, but that number will probably come down as the deadline gets closer. The question is whether Austin wants to join a team most expect to struggle to stay up.
Paper Round's view - The Austin transfer drama has been a bit odd. Nobody questions that he's good enough to help a lot of Premier League clubs and several sides are interested in signing him. Meanwhile, he's at a Championship team and has just one year left on his contract. That's a recipe for a quick and relatively cheap sale, but QPR are asking for £15m anyway and haven't budged. At some point, they're probably going to have to and, if they do, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and maybe even Tottenham will probably get in the mix. That will make things tough on Bournemouth.

Chicharito going to Bayer Leverkusen - Javier "Chicharito" is leaving Manchester United. According to the Daily Mail, the striker has been sold to Bayer Leverkusen for £12m, ending a rocky last few years at Old Trafford. The Mexican fell out of favour at United and spent last season away on loan. He wasn't going to play any role at the club and the Red Devils told him last week that he would be allowed to leave. On Sunday, Louis van Gaal thanked him for his work and the Mexican say goodbye to his United team-mates.
Paper Round's view - It's amazing that United could get £12m for Chicharito considering he has been out of form for the better part of a year and had only one year left on his contract. The Red Devils are painfully thin in the attacking positions, but Van Gaal doesn't rate Chicharito so when Bayer's bid came in United were smart to sell him. Now the Red Devils need to go out and sign at least one striker, if not two.

Cisse wants out of Newcastle - Papiss Cisse has spent the last two matches on the bench and now he's ready to quit Newcastle, according to a report in The Sun. Cisse has gone public with his frustration at being benched and privately he's "fuming." Several teams in Turkey are interested in signing him, while others in China and the Middle East are keen on signing him so he's not short on options. The problem is that Newcastle will not sell him unless they can bring in a replacement in attack.
Paper Round's view - It makes sense that Cisse wouldn't want to stay at a club where he won't be played much and with Ayoze Perez, Emmanuel Riviere and Aleksandar Mitrovic. It's not a shock that Cisse has been pushed out. With three options up front, the Magpies shouldn't need a replacement to sell him, though. In fact, they should look to get him out because at 30-years-old, his value will only go down from here on in.
