Paul Pogba was out to impress on his debut after rejoining Manchester United - but then this happened...
Well, Jose Mourinho did warn us not to expect much from Paul Pogba’s first touch as a Manchester United player.
"I'm not expecting, the first time he touches the ball, to dribble past five guys and score a wonder goal," Mourinho said this week
"I expect the first time he touches the ball to make a correct pass, a good selection of passes, a good choice, a good simple execution and the game fluid.”
Oops.
Pogba took the pitch to much fanfare as the £89m world record signing made his debut against Southampton on Friday night but under the lights at Old Trafford, he looked a bit nervous.
In fairness, his first touch wasn’t too bad – it was the attempted second touch as he then swung and missed at the ball which made everything look a lot worse.
Let's see how it panned out...
1. Pogba wrestles the ball under control
2. Pogba fails to connect with an attempted pass
3. Southampton break quickly
Obviously he is going to be brilliant for United, but this was quite a funny start to his second career at the club.
