Wojciech Szczesny returns to Roma on loan

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has agreed to move to AS Roma on a one-year loan deal.

Szczesny, 26, spent last season on loan at the Rome club, where he made 34 appearances in the league.

“The club announces it has finalised a deal with Arsenal, until 30 June 2017, for the loan of the Polish goalkeeper,” a statement on Roma’s official website read.

Szczesny joined Arsenal back in 2006 as a 16-year-old and has made 181 appearances for the club since his debut back in 2009.

However, the Polish keeper has since seen his first team opportunities curtailed following the arrival of Petr Cech last summer.
