The Swede, 34, signed a one-year deal at Manchester United with an option for a further year over the summer but told Goal.com that he turned an offer from “good friend” Beckham to sign with Miami.
"David is a good friend of mine, and he has asked me to play for his (Miami) team," Ibrahimovic said.

"For now, I want to achieve big things with Manchester United, but I have a lot of respect for the MLS, and anything is possible."
Beckham has recently secured land for his Miami-based franchise which is expected to join the MLS in 2018 – meaning that Ibrahimovic might still team up with the former England captain.
Ibrahimovic’s deal with United includes an option for another year, and the former PSG man is not ruling out playing in the MLS at some point.
"I would never rule out the MLS in the future. I have a contract with Manchester United, but I feel in great shape," he added.
